EDLI Scheme will be applied uniformly to all employees under the policy
There is no need for the employees to contribute to EDLI directly. They need to contribute only to EPF.
Under EDLI we can claim 2,50,000 to Rs. 7,00,000/-
A nominee can claim the amount.
Documents required to Claim EDLI :
- Duly completed Form 5IF (https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_docs/PDFs/Downloads_PDFs/Form5IF.pdf)
- Death Certificate.
- Succession Certificate in case the legal heir files the claim.
- Cancelled Cheque to receive the amount to the particular bank.
- Guardianship Certificate if the claim is filed on behalf of a minor by a person other than the natural guardian.
In case of the sudden demise of an employee, employer will support to claim the amount from EDLI Scheme. Even colleagues can support to claim this to their family through company.
